Pam Dunsky is a licensed teacher (Shidoshi) of Budo Taijutsu under Hatsumi Soke of the Bujinkan Honbu in Noda-shi, Japan. She began pursuing martial arts training in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu with her family in 1995.

Originally a student of Kurt Rittenhouse Martial Arts, Pam trained regularly with her husband and children weekly. She has been a contributing member of the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo since 1998, and co-owner of the dojo since 2004. Besides multiple training seminars with guest instructors, Pam has attended regular classes with Kurt Rittenhouse, Dan Klug, Sean Askew, Tony Maddin, and Jeff Ochester. She earned her Shodan (1st Degree Blackbelt) in 2001 at the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo after being tested by the senior members of the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo on the kihon happo of Budo Taijutsu, of which she performed flawlessly..

From 2000-2001, Pam spent time weekly in private lessons studying the Kihon Happo, San Shin, and Kyu rank material at the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo. From 2002-2004, Pam spent time training with Sean Askew and learning about the historical content of the Bujinkan. During these years, Pam earned new rank in Budo Taijutsu. By the end of 2005, she had been promoted to Yondan (4th Degree Blackbelt) for her improvements and effectiveness.

Pam has been to Japan for training multiple times since 2001 to study with Hatsumi Soke, Nagato Shihan, Noguchi Shihan, and other Japanese teachers. On August 4, 2006, Pam took the Godan (5th Degree Black belt) test overseen by Hatsumi Soke.  Passing on her first try, the Bujinkan Hombu erupted in applause – with less than 2500 Godans in the world, she is one of the few women to ever receive this rank.

“Letting the Dragon Out” is a common description used by students at the Dayton Bujinkan to describe Pam’s taijutsu. As a woman who is shorter than most male training partners, she has studied hard to learn how to outwit her opponent and create advantages through superior timing, angling, and flow. Pam is an excellent example of the spirit incumbent in Bujinkan training.

Pam teaches children regularly at the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo. As a proud wife and mother of three, she is a natural at understanding the needs of young adults and helping them learn new skill sets.

Pam works hard to incorporate her understanding of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu concepts and strategies in everyday life. As a business executive, she has shown examples of using the disciplines learned within martial arts and applying them toward projects and goals at work.

We thank Pam for sharing her knowledge and skill at the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo and working to better the students and friends of those around her.
