Dayton Bujinkan Dojo Shinnenkai Seminar & Celebration a Success! Thank you to guest instructors Dan Klug, Andy Russell, and Dustin Mowery, and everyone who participated in this year’s Shinnenkai Training Event and Celebration! January 4, 2025 Announcement:
Kotohajime Complete! On Saturday, January 4, 2025, a number of students, instructors, and friends cleaned the dojo and performed 1000 practice cuts to welcome the new year (kotohajime). Thank you to Jess, John, Pam, Chris, Andy, Betsy, and others for a great job cleaning the "old" out of the dojo...both mentally and physically! Men’s Changing Room Renovation: The Dojo’s men’s changing room was renovated from November 2024 to January 2025. New paint, updates lighting, new trim and pictures, and a new floor were installed. It’s a great improvement! Images of the renovation are in the Photo Gallery.
January 1, 2025 Announcement:
More than 50% sold out! - 2025 Nagato Sensei Tai Kai at the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo: Nagato Sensei is visiting Dayton on Friday, May 30, to Sunday, June 1, 2025, to teach a three-day seminar at the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo. This unique opportunity will allow participants to experience Nagato Sensei’s Taijutsu and instruction in a dojo environment similar to that of training in Japan. New Tuesday Evening Class: Starting Tuesday, November 12, 2024, Jacob Monzel (Shidoshi) will be teaching an adult combination class on Tuesdays from 8:00-9:00 PM. Masaaki Hatsumi Dojo Giga: Earth A3 Print Set Available: This year in Japan, the Bujinkan celebrated Hatsumi Soke's birthday (early) on October 25th at a special Tokyo Bay Boat tour party. As a gift to honor Soke and celebrate the recent Masaaki Hatsumi: Dojo Giga | Earth art book release, Soke received a set of fourteen A3 size prints at the party. Steve Olsen in Japan, who coordinated the effort, committed to making a small run of these prints available for Bujinkan buyu and art enthusiasts to purchase for their private collections. The A3 size prints feature two photos of Hatsumi Sensei and twelve of his artworks (ten from the Earth book and two from Heaven) designed to fit in an A3 frame (example) and are roughly 11.7" x 16.5".
