November 17, 2024 Announcement:

2025 Nagato Sensei Tai Kai at the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo: Nagato Sensei is visiting Dayton on Friday, May 30, to Sunday, June 1, 2025, to teach a three-day seminar at the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo. This unique opportunity will allow participants to experience Nagato Sensei’s Taijutsu and instruction in a dojo environment similar to that of training in Japan. November 16, 2024 Announcement:

The Dayton Bujinkan Dojo has a number of seminars and workshops scheduled over the next few months. They include:

  • 6th Kyu - 1st Kyu Workshop on Saturday, December 14, 2024, covering material from the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo’s adult kyu rank curriculum

  • Kotohajime Event on Saturday, January 4, 2025: the Kotohajime event is a cleaning of the dojo and 1000 cuts to welcome the new year!

  • Dayton Bujinkan Dojo Annual Shinnenkai Training Seminar and Celebration on Fri & Sat, January 10 & 11, 2025, featuring guest instructors Dan Klug, Andy Russell, Dustin Mowery, and Alan Sakoman

November 11, 2024 Announcement:

New Tuesday Evening Class: Starting Tuesday, November 12, 2024, Jacob Monzel (Shidoshi) will be teaching an adult combination class on Tuesdays from 8:00-9:00 PM. The class is available to all adult students/members immediately and selectable on the dojo kiosk or in the Class Schedule page. For more information about Jacob, visit the Instructors page.

October 22, 2024 Announcement:

Masaaki Hatsumi Dojo Giga: Earth A3 Print Set Available: This year in Japan, the Bujinkan celebrated Hatsumi Soke's birthday (early) on October 25th at a special Tokyo Bay Boat tour party. As a gift to honor Soke and celebrate the recent Masaaki Hatsumi: Dojo Giga | Earth art book release, Soke received a set of fourteen A3 size prints at the party. Steve Olsen in Japan, who coordinated the effort, committed to making a small run of these prints available for Bujinkan buyu and art enthusiasts to purchase for their private collections. The A3 size prints feature two photos of Hatsumi Sensei and twelve of his artworks (ten from the Earth book and two from Heaven) designed to fit in an A3 frame (example) and are roughly 11.7" x 16.5". September 23, 2024 Announcement:

Filming at the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo: On Sunday, September 22, 2024, dojo members and volunteers worked with Film Director Bryon Jones of SpaceDive Media and his collaboration team (including Videographer Ben McClain) on a film project he is directing. The team used the dojo space and even a few students in the recording process. We wish them success as they prepare for the next stage of their project. Thank you to the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo students who volunteered, and for helping to make our guests feel welcome during their activities to support their effort!

May 1, 2024 Announcement:

Masaaki Hatsumi: Dojo Giga | Earth Art Book is Available: Steve Olsen has started shipping his latest art book featuring Soke’s paintings. For dojo members who ordered the book, it may have been shipped to the dojo and is ready for pickup. The book - the second in a series of three, and Steve’s third collaborative art book with Hatsumi Soke - is available in limited quantities at ww.dojoartbooks.com.
